Create a Cal.com API key
In Cal.com, go to Settings, Developer, API Keys, create a key and copy it.
Connect it in Whappy
Paste the key on the Cal.com page under Integrations and press Connect Cal.com account.
Pick an event type
In the campaign's funnel, add a Book meeting step and choose an active, public Cal.com event type.
Whappy books the meeting
The lead picks a time in the chat, Whappy books it and Cal.com sends the calendar invitation by email.
What you get
Cal.com
- Booked for the lead
- No link to click: the meeting lands in your Cal.com calendar from the chat.
- A taken time is handled
- If Cal.com refuses the booking, for example because the time was just taken, the AI offers another time.
- Asks for the email once
- Cal.com needs an email for the invitation. If Whappy does not have it, the AI asks in the same message as the times.
- Rehearsals never book
- Practice runs never create a real meeting. A test lead does, like any other lead.
Questions
Which event types can I use?
Active, public event types that allow booking. Changed one in Cal.com? Press Refresh.
What if the lead gives no email?
Whappy still books the meeting, with a stand-in address. The lead then gets no invitation email.
Is the API key safe to share?
Keep it private: anyone with it can read your calendar and book meetings in it.
